Fletchers Fabrics is a long established family run company. We started with a small shop in Bradford and are now in spacious premises in York.
Fletchers Fabrics was founded in 1953 by Herbert, a former wool textile worker and Florence Fletcher. Based in a small shop in their home town of Bradford and taking on the role of market traders, they further extended the business by visiting North Yorkshire markets and in particular, those in the York area.
I joined my parents’ business in the 1960s and began expanding in the current direction in 1973 with the acquisition of an Acomb shop on the outskirts of York. More recently and to accommodate our ever increasing stock range, we moved in to the current premises where spacious facilities include onsite parking and wheelchair access.
With my wife, Trish, I look forward to expanding the role of Fletchers Fabrics to meet the ever changing needs and tastes of our valued customers.
